The Digital Production Partnership (DPP) has released an updated version of its metadata app.

The Mac OSX and Windows app, which helps production companies provide broadcasters with the correct information about programmes they deliver as files, has an overhauled user interface for timecode input.

Version 1.1 now contains a tool for the automatic calculation of a programme’s length from the sum of its part durations.

It also includes the option to save descriptive and technical metadata as a DPT template file as well as support for Windows Server 2008.

The app was launched in September to help broadcasters and production firms with the shift from tape to file-based delivery.

The new version can be downloaded from the DPP website.
