The PSP can connect wirelessly to the internet and from today users can access Channel 4 radio content via wireless connection points operated by network operator The Cloud.

Consumers will be able to download daily podcasts featuring updates from the new series of Celebrity Big Brotheras well as 4Radio programmes including Morning Newsand SlashMusic, all in podcast format.

The Cloud currently operates 7,500 public WiFi hotspots.

Director of Channel 4 Radio Nathalie Schwarz said: the deal enabled 4Radio to target listeners who want 'bold and mischievous' radio programming but do not have time to tune in before they leave the house.

She said: 'For the digitally savvy generation too much radio programming feels tired and formulaic.

'Becoming the first broadcaster to make radio content available wirelessly on PSPs will help 4Radio connect with a young, mobile audience.'
