Bebo has teamed up with indie Monkey Kingdom and Universal Music for its latest web drama.
The Secret World of Sam King will be produced by the music label's production arm Globe Productions in partnership with Monkey, which recently produced The Charlotte Church Show.
The drama will be filmed in Universal's West London headquarters and will follow Sam, a junior employee who secretly funds his own start-up music label in the post room.
Universal artists will cameo in the series, which will blur fiction and reality in its reflection of life in the music industry. Amy Winehouse, Adele and Jamie Callum are among those signed to the label.
Bebo users will be able to participate and shape the creative output of the both the show and Sam's label, appealing to prospective marketers, journalists, video producers, A&R scouts, sound engineers, stylist, designers and song writers.
Katie, Sam's love interest, and Johnny, Sam's friend, will feature in spin-off show Katie's Love-in and a radio podcast.
The drama joins established Bebo's formats KateModern, Sofia's Diary and reality show The Gap Year.
As with Bebo's other shows, the drama will be funded by sponsorship and product placement. Sony Ericsson will sponsor the first three episodes.
Bebo chief executive Joanna Shields said: "This is a first between a social network and a music company. Both KateModern and Sophia's Diary have demonstrated that Bebo has an active user base that is drawn to quality drama that they can interact with and share with their friends.
"We're confident that the subject matter for The Secret World of Sam King and the opportunities for involvement will resonate well with our community."
