ID Distribution has sold the format rights to Objective Productions' The Real Hustle to producers in Russia and Belgium.
Belgium indie Toreador is currently in pre-production on a six-episode series for commercial broadcaster VT4, while Russian production company Red Planet is producing a 15-episode series for a major terrestrial broadcaster.
The Real Hustle demonstrates how easy it is to fall for scams by showing everyday scenarios in which members of the public are tricked into handing over money or personal details.
The two new sales follow last month's deal between ID Distribution and Buzz Television to produce a local version in Israel. There is also a local version for Germany. The Russian and Belgium deals were brokered by ID sales director Reema Patel who said the company was "delighted to see the format potential growing internationally".
ID is distributing all the Objective-produced series, which include series one, two and three, plus a Christmas special, The Real Hustle Las Vegas and The Real Hustle US, which is produced by Objective for Tru TV.
