Outright Distribution has picked up the international rights to Channel 4 documentary Car Bomb.
The 2 x 60-minute special was produced by Kevin Toolis' indie, Many Rivers Films. The producer was also behind Cult of the Suicide Bomber, which was nominated for an Emmy in 2006. It is the first time Outright has sold Many Rivers' content.
Car Bomb tells the story of international terrorists' preferred method of mass killing and argues that it is this weapon, rather than the nuclear war-head, which has shaped the course of human conflict in the 20th and 21st centuries.
It is fronted by ex-CIA agent Robert Baer, whose life was depicted by George Clooney in the movie Syriana, and features candid interviews with car bombers themselves.
"Car Bomb is the first ever film history of this number one terrorist threat," said Toolis. "It won high ratings for C4 and we are very pleased to be working with Outright to promote the film across the whole globe."
Outright will be showcasing the film at Mipcom this October.
