Worst Driver steers toward US

Mentorn has set its Worst Driver format on the road to the US after accelerating a deal with the LA-based indie behind Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen USA.
A Smith & Co Productions has a long track record of remaking British formats for US networks, including the current hits Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares with Gordon Ramsay for FOX.
The company will be charged with developing the US version and pitching it to networks.
David Leach, president of Mentorn USA, who brokered the partnership, said: "We generally produce our formats ourselves, but where there is a good fit with a US producer who can bring a lot to a project, we're happy to co-produce. [Arthur Smith's] experience of launching British formats in the US is second to none."
The Worst Driver format has already been a hit internationally with versions produced in 13 territories including Canada (pictured), Australia, Belgium, Holland and Sweden.
