Outright Distribution has picked up the international rights to Northern Ireland-based indie Waddell Media's new ITV1 special The Singing Priests.
The hour-long documentary is due to go out on ITV1 in the run-up to Christmas and tells the story of three Catholic priests from Northern Ireland with unique vocal harmonies.
The trio have signed a $2m record deal with Sony BMG, which is aiming to turn them into global superstars with an international hit album this Christmas.
Filming began in April this year and the 60-minute special tells the story of how the priests cope with their new-found celebrity.
Outright will also be distributing The Singing Priests in Concert, a 60-minute live event featuring the priests' debut performance at St Patrick's Cathedral in Armagh. The live show is the distributor's first property from Sony BMG.
Outright managing director Chris Bonney said stories like The Singing Priests, "come along very rarely".
"We're offering broadcasters access to the priests' story and showcasing their talents, which should dovetail very nicely with their release onto the world stage in the run-up to
Christmas," he said.
