FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has struck a multi-million dollar deal with US male-skewed channel Spike TV to help finance and market four of its original series worldwide.
The investment deal also gives FME international distribution rights to the series, which include stunt show Jesse James is a Dead Man, historical doc series Deadliest Warrior and survival series Surviving Disaster (working title).
The fourth is season two of special agent ob doc series DEA. All four programmes are due to launch on Spike in 2009.
The deal is the latest in the on-going partnership between MTV Networks Entertainment Group (owner of Spike) and FME, which have worked together on distributing previous titles including season one of DEA, which has sold in 42 territories.
Commenting on the deal, David Ellender, FME's chief executive officer said: "We couldn't be more pleased with the tremendous success we've shared thus far in distributing Spike TV programming worldwide, and are confident these new series will perform just as strong in the international market place."
