Families must live the life of an indigenous tribe in this reality format.
The format
Ticket to the Tribes is a 12 x 60-minute series that follows three Western families getting to grips with life in an indigenous tribe.
The families leave behind the comforts of their home for several weeks to discover another way of life in remote parts of Africa, Asia and South America.
Each episode examines how well they are learning to cope as they try to integrate into a very different community.
While there, they are expected to hunt, fish and live like their hosts.
The families' goal is to prove that they can be worthy members of the tribe.
If they succeed, they are treated to an inauguration ceremony.
Who's showing it?
The first episode launched in Norway on 13 September on NRK1, capturing a market share of 52.4%. It has also been broadcast in Belgium, Germany, New Zealand and Australia.
Coming to the UK?
The international rights are owned by Eyeworks International, which will be pitching the format at Mipcom.
Could it work here?
As a cross between C4's The Family and the BBC's Tribe it could tap into demand for exotic reality TV.
