Stephen Lambert indie Studio Lambert plans to work with other UK factual entertainment producers to get their formats remade in the US.
The indie is also in talks with other All3Media-owned producers which do not have a significant presence across the Atlantic about adapting shows for the US.
Miramax TV co-founder and Project Runway showrunner Eli Holzman, the new head of Studio Lambert's US arm, plans to use his US TV contacts to sell UK formats to networks.
"Because we have strong ties to both the UK and the US, we will be looking for genuine partnerships," said Lambert. "Eli's contacts will be central."
Holzman said there were plenty of ideas coming out of the UK but that the crossover to the US had sometimes been mishandled.
"UK shows can go into the meat grinder in the US and the magic is lost," he said. "We'll ensure this doesn't happen."
Formats that crossed over to the US during Lambert's time at RDF Media include Wife Swap, which aired on ABC.
