LNN man back to BBC

London News Network (LNN) head of news Malcolm Balen is to return to BBC News as a consultant when he steps down from his post this week. The former BBC News executive editor, who said he made the decision to leave in the summer and was not affected by the redundancies announced following ITN's take over of LNN's news operation, will consult for both television and radio news, specifically on coverage of the Middle East.
