Former BBC head of light entertainment Michael Leggo has joined interactive gaming firm NetPlay TV as director of television.
He will oversee all of NetPlay TV's television programming for its own channels and for other broadcasters and his brief will be to bring mainstream editorial and production expertise to NetPlay TV's television operations.
AIM-listed NetPlay operates a number of interactive gaming services under a UK gaming license, including Live Roulette and Big Box Bingo. These also go out on Sky Channel 847 from noon to 4am, on Virgin 1 from midnight to 3am and on Bravo TV from 1am to 4am.
Leggo began directing on Not the Nine O' Clock News and created, produced and directed Noel's House Party, winning a Bafta in 1992.
He is currently director of broadcast and programming for Unique Communications Group and his recent output includes David Walliams – My Life With James Bond (ITV1), It Started With Swapshop (BBC2) and That's What I Call Television (ITV1).
Leggo will remain a director and shareholder of UCG and will continue to executive produce key projects.
NetPlay TV chief executive Martin Higginson said: "As our portfolio of our own TV channels and shows for larger broadcasters expands, it is vital that our television is supported by someone of Michael's track record and reputation."
