Wogan to host C4 quiz

Channel 4 has ordered a new gameshow format fronted by Terry Wogan as a potential successor to Richard and Judy's teatime show.

C4 daytime commissioning editor Helen Warner has ordered a four-week run of Wogan's Total Recall (working title) in the 5pm or 5.30pm weekday slot later this year.

The show, to be made by RDF, will feature a series of general knowledge questions, with the twist that some will have the same answers. The three contestants will have to remember the answers from previous rounds to be in the running for a cash prize.

Wogan's Total Recall will run to half an hour. Peter Usher is executive producer, Jane O'Brien is series producer and Cam De la Huerta will produce.

Channel 4 has yet to confirm what will run in the remaining 30 minutes of Richard and Judy's former 60-minute slot, though Come Dine With Me is scheduled for one of the half-hour slots later in the year.

Prior to that, The Paul O'Grady Show will occupy the full hour slot from September.

Richard and Judy recently announced they would leave Channel 4 to front a similar format  on an as-yet unnamed new entertainment channel for UKTV.
