Paul Römer, the managing director of Endemol Netherlands has been promoted to global head of programming at Endemol Group.
Römer will start the new position on 1 January 2009 and will be responsible for leading and co-ordinating Endemol's creative process worldwide.
He will report to Ynon Kreiz, chief executive officer of the Endemol Group and work closely with chief commercial officer Tom Toumazis, whose appointment was announced in August.
Römer has been with Endemol for 12 years and was one of the key people behind the Big Brother format, executive producing the very first series in the Netherlands.
He has been managing director for Endemol Netherland since 2002. His successor has yet to be announced.
