Living's glossy new US drama Lipstick Jungle took a tumble in the ratings last night with just 85,000 (0.59%) watching at 10pm, a fall of 57% on last week's launch.
The series, from Sex and the City creator Candace Bushnell, held a largely stable audience across the hour but was down on the channel's slot average for the year so far of 107,000 (0.68%).
The opening episode of the seven-part run in the same slot last week averaged a strong 198,000 (1.38%).
The entertainment channel was in a much stronger position at 9pm with America's Next Top Model pulling in 342,000 (1.70%), an increase of 14,000 on last week.
None of the main multichannel offerings last night could make much of an impression with viewers though.
Top of the field at 9pm was ITV2's Hell's Kitchen USA on 462,000 (2.29%) with a further 110,000 watching on ITV2+1. Breaking the 300,000 mark was E4's teen drama One Tree Hill with 328,000 (1.63%) in the same slot. The show also was seen by 40,000 on E4+1.
Slightly later on Sky 1 was the 30-minute special Ross Kemp Meets the Glue Kids of Kenya. The documentary averaged a respectable 250,000 (1.51%).
