SMG has officially rebranded as the STV Group plc from today (1 October).
SMG branded businesses within the group will now operate under new names.
SMG Productions, the producer of Taggart and Rebus headed by Alan Clements, becomes STV Productions, while resource-based business SMG Solutions becomes Solutions.
The television arm of STV is the sixth biggest programme producer in the UK and also owns Ginger Productions
The name change was approved at an extraordinary general meeting on 23 September.
The close of a tender offer process has returned £30 million to shareholders.
STV's share price has risen by 13.6p to £2.04 over the past day.
STV Group chief executive Rob Woodward said: "This is an exciting day for the group. We are a transformed company which is completely focussed on our broadcasting business and our new name reflects this."
