Social networking site Bebo is following up KateModernwith a second interactive drama series called Sofia's Diary.

The drama, available from this autumn, is an adaptation of a Portugese multi-media show of the same name, which offered a daily dilemma for Sofia, a 17 year-old girl.

It was based on diary content which was published online, in a teen magazine, in daily newspapers, on a teen radio station and a cable TV show.

The UK version is penned by Danny Stack, who won a Bafta last year for his children's animation The Amazing Adrenali Brothers.

The Sofia character will post daily video and text updates on her own Bebo profile and will engage directly with the Bebo community to offer users an interactive storytelling experience unlike any other. A cast has yet to be announced.

The drama has previously been adapted for the US, Germany, Brazil, Chile, Turkey and Vietnam.

Bebo recently launched interactive drama KateModern, which attracted more than three million views in its first eight weeks.

Both dramas are funded through product placement from a range of advertisers.

' Sofia's Diarytakes drama to the next level by embracing the web as a new medium for storytelling,' said Bebo's international president Joanna Shields.

'It's not enough for a piece of content to exist on a single medium - broadcasters, producers and writers need to consider the potential of telling multi-faceted stories using multiple media.'

She added: 'For an audience that's spending less and less time in front of traditional media, Sofia's Diarypresents a new form of entertainment that makes the audience an integral part of the show.'
