Six more millionaires have agreed to part with thousands of pounds for a second series of The Secret Millionaire on Channel 4.The 6 x 60-minute RDF Television series will return later this year and has been greenlit by C4 commissioning editor for documentaries Meredith Chambers.
When it was shown last year it became the most popular new series on C4 in the 9pm slot, attracting audiences of 3.5 million.
Each week sees a different millionaire spend 10 days in some of the UK's most deprived areas, searching for people whose lives they can change with their money.
The millionaires disguise their true identities in the hope they will be better placed to make informed decisions on who is worthy of the money.
On the last day, they reveal their identities and write their cheques.
Chambers said the series looks at the reality of 'political and social issues' in a way that makes them accessible to a wide audience.
RDF Media Group chief creative officer Stephen Lambert added: 'It's very encouraging that a programme like this can shine a light on some of the country's biggest social problems while still appealing to a broad audience.'
The new series is being executive produced by Tayte Simpson of RDF Television.
