Discovery Channel UK to get access to 400 hours of C4’s back catalogue and a first-look option on new content.
The 400 hours will be split into two thirds lifestyle content and one third factual from C4’s existing slate, with the deal running for two years. Shows that make up the deal include A Place in the Sun, Brat Camp, No Going Back, Mermaid Babies and Helen of Troy.
Separately, Discovery has signed a first-look deal with C4 giving it first refusal on the latter’s UK lifestyle and factual commissions over the next two years.
This means that new series of hit shows such as Ricochet’s Supernanny will go straight to Discovery once they have aired on C4.
Both the deals will go live on 1 November, although the fees involved remain undisclosed.
Discovery and C4 both declined to comment.
