GCap wins Northants bid

GCap Media has been awarded the new local digital multiplex for Northamptonshire.

GCap Media has been awarded the new local digital multiplex for Northamptonshire.

Now Digital will provide nine commercial services, including current stations Northants 96, Gold and Connect FM.

Xfm will launch in the area along with UCB and Jack FM. BBC Radio Northampton will also feature. Ofcom estimates that the newly licensed station will reach 500,000 listeners.

The licence will be issued for a 12-year period. Now Digital Limited is committed to launching its service by September 2008.
