MTV Music Awards returns to C4

The MTV Europe Music Awards will return to Channel 4 next month after a two year absence.

C4 has secured the terrestrial broadcast rights for the event in a one-year deal. Five had aired the awards for the last two years, but C4 previously broadcast the event between 2000 and 2004.

C4 will air the show as a 75-minute special on 11 November as part of its T4 Sunday strand.

The Europe Music Awards in Munich are broadcast live on MTV1 at 9.00pm on Thursday 1 November from the OlympiaHalle.

It is the fourteenth annual awards, which started in 1994 in Berlin. This year’s host, rapper Snoop Dogg, will introduce live acts including Mika, Foo Fighters, Avril Lavigne, will.i.am (Black Eyed Peas), and Babyshambles.
