BBC to air the Super Bowl live
Jake Humphrey will present the American football championship, alongside former Super Bowl winner Rod Woodson and veteran NFL broadcaster Mike Carlson.
They will host the Super Bowl XLII show live from the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona, at 10.30pm (UK time) on Sunday 3 February.
Woodson, who is recognised as one of American football's all time greats after a 17-year playing career, welcomed the opportunity to extend the sport's reach.
"I am very excited and honoured about the opportunity of working with the BBC. It will be a great experience to help spread the word of the NFL to a new audience," he said.
Woodson won a Super Bowl ring as a defensive back with the Baltimore Ravens following the 2000 NFL season and appeared in two other Super Bowls - for the Pittsburgh Steelers after the 1995 season and for the Oakland Raiders in 2002, when he led the league with eight interceptions. He later became an analyst for NFL Network.
