Diamond declares Fat War
Entitled Anne Diamond's War on Fat, the 60-minute programme will debunk dieting myths and explore why obesity is on the rise as well as providing healthy living tips. It is the first time indie True North has made a show for Sky Real Lives.
The documentary will coincide with the launch of Diamond's book, Winning the War on Fat: Expert Ways to Lose Weight in a Fat World, which will be launched early next year. Sky Real Lives is planning to do more programmes in association with book launches.
True North Productions executive producer Jess Fowle: “Anne has had to fight her own personal war on fat in the public spotlight and has now become a campaigner on the subject of obesity. So she really understands the agony and frustration of the average dieter.
“Anne wanted to make a very up-front and honest film to understand why diets so often fail and to help real men and women achieve long term sustainable weight loss without resigning themselves to a life of deprivation and misery. It's a great experience to be working on such a personal and passionate project."
Head of Sky Real Lives Barbara Gibbon said dieting was a “subject of endless fascination” for the channel's mainly female audience.
“It's been excellent working with Anne because of her passion to raise the debate about why so many people in Britain are eating their way to an early grave,” she said.
