ITV gets Life as US buying spree continues
The broadcaster has picked up the show, in which Lewis stars as a policeman who rejoins the force after spending several years in prison for a crime he did not commit.
The drama is one of only two NBC shows to be given a full series order so far this season.
It has been acquired for ITV3, but could move to ITV1 depending on its performance.
The series so far has averaged a 3.0 rating/9 share in the US and is the best performing show in its timeslot in the key demographic of adults aged 18 to 34.
ITV director of acquisitions Jay Kandola said: “Life adds to a strong and diverse portfolio of acquisitions for ITV this season. Damian Lewis’ character, Charlie Crew, leads an intriguing plot and I’m really looking forward to bringing it to the UK next year.”
ITV has already bought some of the biggest hits of the US season, including Pushing Daisies and Gossip Girl. However, ITV acquisition Bionic Woman is yet to be given a full-season order.
