ITV lines up duo for Christmas
Spun Gold will produce a 60-minute primetime special called The Alan Titchmarsh Christmas Show, tentatively scheduled for 21 December.
Titchmarsh will pay tribute to Britons who have shown extraordinary charity or courage, and will reunite families who would otherwise have spent Christmas apart.
The programme was ordered by commissioning editor for features, daytime and factual, Diana Howie, and director of factual and daytime Alison Sharman.
Howie said: “This show will tick all of the boxes for Christmas - reunions, surprises and, of course, great entertainment.”
Meanwhile, Jones will visit Assisi, Bethlehem and the WW1 battlefields of Belgium to learn more about the origin of carols in the 60-minute Aled's Christmas Carols.
He will speak to historians, priests and locals, as well as singing with the Liberia Choir and the Adventist Vocal Ensemble at St Barts Church, London.
Back2Back is making the show, which has been earmarked for broadcast on Christmas Eve. It was commissioned by Howie and controller of documentaries and current affairs Jeff Anderson.
