ITV to show big babies
As well as meeting parents and their unusually large offspring, the programme will feature new research into the link between maternal obesity and the birth-weight of babies, including the testing of junk food on rats.
Britain's Biggest Babies will feature two births, including one 11lb baby to a mother who has already given birth to a 13lb baby.
Viewers will also meet a 15-year-old boy who still holds the record of being the biggest baby to be born in the UK, at 15lb 8oz.
The record birth weight is 17lbs for a baby born in Siberia, who will also be featured.
The doc was produced by Sandi Scott and was commissioned for ITV by Jo Clinton-Davis.
It is one of four programmes made by the Motive-owned indie that will be broadcast in the week beginning 9 June.
It will join previously announced Sky commissions 50 Greatest TV Endings, 50 Ways to Leave Your TV Lover and the debut of The Making of a Monster, a factual series on Britain's most notorious
serial killers, on the Crime and Investigation Network.
Scarlet managing director Paula Trafford is executive producer on all four programmes.
