ITV3 orders first factual show
Live the Dream As Seen on Screen will profile six dream British lifestyles, across a 6 x 60-minute series. It will be presented by Melissa Porter and Nick Barratt. Each episode will profile three magnificent homes and the people who "live the dream", ranging from the Cornish cottages that feature in Doc Martin to art deco properties as seen in Poirot.
It will be produced by Leeds-based indie Shiver, which previously made The Story of Costume Drama for the channel.
ITV commissioning editor for features Diana Howie said the series would be “smart and aspirational”.
“It has the high production values that our ITV3 viewers expect from our regular programmes so although 'property' is a new offering on the channel, it will feel like a natural part of the channel mix,” she said.
Shiver will also produce Top of the Cops for broadcast on Easter weekend 2009 - a one-off three-hour countdown ranking the best on-screen 50 detectives.
Viewers will rank their favourite sleuths on itv.com from February. The final countdown will feature archive clips as well as interviews with actors, journalists and writers.
Both series were ordered by Howie on behalf of ITV3 controller Emma Tennant.
