Rescue Me to air exclusively on iTunes
The new season of US firefighter drama Rescue Me is to debut on iTunes in the UK and will be the first major series to air exclusively here on a non-TV platform.
The first three seasons of the award-winning drama, following troubled New York firefighter Tommy Gavin (Dennis Leary), aired on Sky One. But the entertainment channel will not air the fourth run and distributor Sony Pictures Television International has cut a deal with iTunes to offer the forthcoming 13 x 45-minute episodes on the download platform from 7 November.
The first three seasons will be available to consumers on iTunes from 14, 21 and 28 October respectively.
