Sky lines up next Prachett film

Sky One's next Terry Pratchett project will be an adaptation of Discworld novel Going Postal.

The show will be the third Pratchett book to be made for Sky by the Mob Film Co after The Hogfather and the forthcoming The Colour of Magic, and will again be directed by Vadim Jean.

Jean revealed limited details of the plan to make Going Postal at the premiere of The Colour of Magic last night (3 March).

He said it would be slightly different to the previous projects as the story does not feature Rincewind, the inept wizard played by David Jason in The Colour of Magic, and because the action is “far more interior”, taking place largely in a run down post office. Its hero is a con artist called Moist von Lipwig.

The channel's first Pratchett adaptation, The Hogfather, won two Baftas after airing at Christmas 2006. The Colour of Magic will go out over Easter this year.
