Sky Movies and MTV to remake Rocky Horror

Sky Movies has inked a partnership deal to remake classic musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Lou Adler, the film's original executive producer, has partnered with BermanBraun and Fox Television Studios to remake the cult classic for Sky Movies in the UK and MTV in the US.

Although cast and director for the remake are yet to be confirmed, Adler and Gail Berman will executive produce the project, which will utilize the Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien screenplay. O'Brien will also co-produce the project.

Under the terms of the deal, the film will have its UK premiere exclusively on Sky Movies, which has also co-financed the new production. It will also be made available via the Sky Player and Sky Anytime services.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show first aired in 1975 and featured Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon.
