CBeebies orders Big and Small

Lenny Henry and Imelda Staunton are to provide their vocal talents to a new pre-school puppet series that has been ordered by CBeebies.

Big and Small follows the adventures of two best friends as they attempt to live together in a chaotic house and garden. The 52 x 11-minute series will be co-produced by Kindle Entertainment and 3J's Productions, in association with Treehouse in Canada. Puppet workshop The Grogs will create the puppetry.

Henry will provide the voices for both Big and Small, while Staunton will voice their neighbours and friends, Ruby the mouse and Twiba the worm.

Aimed at children aged 3-6, it will being airing from late autumn this year.

A long term licensing programme and strategy has been developed to support the property which will focus on key aspects of the show, including music and the concept of perspective, through the development of combinations of complementary big and small items.

The licensing programme is scheduled to roll out at the end of 2008 and will initially include toys, apparel, music downloads and plush.
