NBC and Apple are locked in a war of words after the broadcasting network behind Heroesand Battlestar Galacticatook its shows off iTunes in protest at Apple's pricing model.

In response, Apple claimed NBC wanted too big a cut of the revenues.

The spat came as MTV and Disney channels, including ABC, offered their shows on iTunes in the UK for the first time.

NBC has also teamed up with News Corporation to launch video site hulu.com.
