Angel Gambino quits Bebo

Former MTV executive Angel Gambino has quit her post as global VP, music and content at social networking site Bebo.

Gambino, who spent a year at Bebo, helped up-and-coming artists develop better relationships with network users while helping record labels to find the best new talent.

She also assisted in creating partnerships between artists, brands and retailers.

"With the business experiencing massive growth now topping 42 million active users worldwide spending on average 30 minutes per session, and ultimately being sold to AOL, I view my decision to leave Bebo at this time very much as a natural progression of my role and career," she said.

Gambino said she planned to take the summer out before deciding on her next venture.

Prior to joining Bebo, Gambino was MTV Networks UK and Ireland vice-president for commercial strategy and digital media.
