Love hires Shine exec

Love Productions has hired Shine head of entertainment Richard Bowron in the newly-created role of head of development.

In his new role, Bowron will work closely with company founders and creative directors Richard McKerrow and Anna Beattie and recently appointed managing director Andrew Brann to build the company's portfolio in both domestic and international markets.

Prior to his most recent role at Shine, Bowron worked at the BBC as a series producer. He was also head of development for a number of indies including RDF.

His credits include Musicool for Channel 4, Most Annoying for BBC3, Spending Other People's Money for BBC1 and The Nation's Favourite Food for BBC2.

Love Productions' current factual and features slate includes Britain's Missing Top Model and My Life as a… Pig for BBC Three, and Wait Till Your Father Gets Home for Channel 4.

The company also recently secured its first commission in the US with The Baby Borrowers, due to be broadcast on NBC in June 2008.

Bowron will take up his new role on Monday (9 June).
