Parthenon poaches Hit exec

Parthenon Entertainment Group has named Hit Entertainment executive Marie Chappelow as commercial director of its children's arm, Parthenon Kids.

Chappelow has spent more than seven years as vice president of programming distribution at Hit, and previously worked in sales of children's programmes at Fox.

In her new role, which takes effect in October, she will oversee Parthenon Kids' distribution, co-production fundraising, sales and acquisitions. In addition she will work with Parthenon's licensing and merchandising division on branding.

Carl Hall, Parthenon chief executive said: "I first met Marie when she started at Hit, where we worked on a number of projects together.

"She has a great reputation in the industry and her relationships with key broadcasters are unparalleled."

Chappelow added: "I have watched Parthenon's foray into the world of kids' entertainment with great interest. The company has grown and flourished over the last six years since its inception, and I consider it to be one of the most dynamic production/distribution houses in the marketplace."
