Shine TV shakes up its top roles

Shine TV has restructured its top executive roles and appointed Tiger Aspect commercial director Jamie Munro as joint managing director.

Munro, who was also senior vice-president of international production at Tiger, will take responsibility for the commercial side of the business, and will sit alongside Karen Smith, who has been promoted from head of programming to focus on the creative side.

Munro will report to Alex Mahon, who has relinquished her daily management responsibilities at Shine Television to focus on being Shine Group president. Smith reports to Elisabeth Murdoch, chairman and chief executive of Shine Group.

Munro's appointment, which comes into force in October, will bring Shine TV's structure into line with other companies in the Shine Group, which each have their own managing directors.

"Jamie's business acumen and track record in realising the full potential of properties complemented by Karen's creativity, touch and drive in programming makes a desirable management team for Shine TV," Mahon said.

Under the new structure, Shine TV director of production Joe McLusky and director of legal and business affairs John Gilbert will report to Munro instead of Mahon.
