UKTV has appointed Adrian Wills as channel head of UKTV People and Richard Kingsbury as channel head of UKTV History in preparation for the network's 2009 rebrand.
Kingsbury, who also runs UKTV Food, takes over from Wills at UKTV History. Wills, who will continue to also run UKTV Documentary, has taken over from Catherine Catton at UKTV People. Catton was recently made a commissioning editor across UKTV channels.
Both Wills and Kingsbury are charged with strategic development of the channels and take up their new responsibilities immediately. They report into director of lifestyle, factual and new media Jane Mote.
Wills took over UKTV History in October 2002 and was behind shows such as Sex, Love and War and Britain's Best. When the channel launched Matt Toombs was launch director.
Kingsbury took over at UKTV Food in November 2007 and was responsible for hits such as New British Kitchen and Rhodes Across China.
He was previously channel head of UKTV Drama, which will rebranded as Alibi next year. Steve Hornsey took over at UKTV Drama late last year, having previously been deputy channel head for UKTV Drama and UKTV Gold.
