ITN reporter signs with Teachers TV

Teachers TV has signed up former ITN correspondent Charlotte Hume to front a fortnightly news bulletin.

The 15-minute bulletin is part of a multi-platform news service from ITN's multimedia division, ITN On. Hume, ITN's former money and consumer correspondent, is the main presenter.

There will be real-time updates on the website, which will include daily video feeds.

ITN will be recruiting a team of correspondents to be at the forefront of breaking news in the educational sector.

ITN chief executive Mark Wood said: "The education sector is an important part of ITN's growth strategy which includes delivery of formatted video content to digital education networks and publishers worldwide."

Teachers TV news editor Matt Walsh added: "We will be taking the best aspects of citizen journalism, with strong, direct input from the education workforce, balanced with traditionally high standards of news editing. Ensuring viewers get the news they need in an easy to view format."

The service goes live today.
