Stephen Lambert has hired former RDF producer Tania Alexander to lead the development of factual entertainment and reality programmes at his indie.
Her first commission at Studio Lambert will be Ultimate Gap Year [working title], a T4 series in which young people will undertake backpacking adventures to compete for the prize of best travelling companion.
Filming begins later this year on the 8 x 60-minute series, which has attracted more than a thousand applications.
It was commissioned by T4 head Jules Oldroyd and T4 editor Sangeeta Bhaska and will be produced for Studio Lambert by Sophie Lloyd.
Alexander series produced and executive produced Shipwrecked: Battle of the Islands during three series for Channel 4 and exec produced BBC2's The Verdict.
She also worked in youth entertainment at Sunset + Vine and at Endemol, where she oversaw three series of C4's The Games and the first series of The Hall of Fame.
Lambert said: "Tania is one of those rare people who can handle brilliantly the demands of a big production."
