Channel 4 staff applying for voluntary redundancy will know by the end of this week if their jobs are to go in the broadcaster's cutbacks.
Several commissioning staff are understood to be among those who applied for redundancy after C4 launched an open call on 23 September.
The broadcaster is looking to cull up to 150 jobs – reducing its workforce by around 15% to between 800 and 850.
C4 is looking to make cuts across all its departments, but also to protect the structure of the company. It has not guaranteed that all voluntary redundancy applications will be accepted.
On top of the voluntary redundancies, the broadcaster introduced a 90-day consultation period for all staff, which will be completed by Christmas.
On top of £25m in programme budget cuts this year, C4 wants to take £25 million from its cost base. It plans a further £50 million budget cut next year, which will again include some reduction programming spend.
