ITV exec named Input Media MD

Input Media, the company behind Chelsea TV and Arsenal TV, has appointed former ITV Worldwide executive David Johnson as it managing director.

Johnson was previously commercial and operations director and chief financial officer at ITV Worldwide.

He will join the board at Input Media on 1 November, where he will work with executive chairman David Wood. Johnson will primarily be responsible for managing the sports production company day-to-day, allowing Wood to focus on key client relationships.

Prior to spending seven years at ITV, Johnson spent seven years in a number of positions at the BBC. His move to Input Media was handled by Sports Recruitment International.

Wood said: "David's outstanding management skills and experience in the broadcast industry will bring a new level of expertise to our company and will help us fulfil our business objectives to their highest potential."

Johnson is Input Media's most senior appointment to date. The company, which makes Chelsea TV and Arsenal TV, has been owner managed by Wood since he took control in 1992.
