Blink eyes fact ent after hires

Dan Chambers and Justine Kershaw

Blink Films, the indie set up by former Five execs Dan Chambers and Justine Kershaw, has made its first major hires and is planning a push into factual entertainment.

Sarah Sapper, the Tiger Aspect head of production behind shows such as Paul Merton In India and Make Me a Supermodel, has joined Blink in the same role.

Former Tiger Aspect director of documentaries Jago Lee, who set up Somethin' Else's factual programming division, has taken up an executive producer role at Blink. He is best known for C4 documentary Nazi Pop Twins.

Lee's first credits at Blink will include Virgin 1's special on Richard Branson's Atlantic crossing, Come Hell or High Water, and a Cutting Edge film on a 16 year old  who circumnavigates the globe.

The appointments coincide with Blink winning a second 5 x 60-minute run of True Stories for Five. BBC4 has also ordered Vanishing Bees, a 60-minute documentary looking at the decline of the global bee population, which it will air as part of a Bee Night.
