Cheetah Television is revamping its long-running BBC2 cookery show Ready Steady Cook- the first overhaul in the show's 13-year history.

The next series of the show will feature a new-look studio and each episode will star two celebrities in addition to contestants from the audience.

Stars lined up to appear include Strictly Come Dancing's Arlene Phillips and Craig Revel Horward, and How to Look Good Nakedpresenter Gok Wan.

The old voting system, which saw audiences select the winner using 'red tomato' and 'green pepper' cards, has been axed in favour of electronic voting pads.

Cheetah Television managing director Nikki Cheetham said the format, which has secured an order for a further 40 x 45-minute run, had undergone 'a little cosmetic surgery'.

Presenter Ainsley Harriott will continue to front the show alongside three new chefs: Alex Mackay, Garrey Dawson and Richard Phillips.

The series is executive produced by Linda Clifford and the series producer is Miranda Lyons. The BBC executive producer is Lindsay Bradbury.
