The Sci Fi channel UK has ordered a superhero-themed mockumentary drama - the first commission for its broadband player Sci Fi Play. [ALL]
The Sci Fi channel UK has ordered a superhero-themed mockumentary drama - the first commission for its broadband player Sci Fi Play.Legion of Firestars Ron Moody, known for his performance as Fagin in Oliver!, playing 80-something Cecil Roper, aka Flash Harry, who runs a Croydon-based superhero club.
There are six members of the Legion of Fire club, including plastic-snake adorned single mother 'Snakebite', the aging and botanically-inspired teacher 'The Deadly Nightshade' and the electrically charged 'Flex'.
The future of the club, however, hangs in the balance due to spiralling debts and a lack of new recruits.
The 25-minute script, written and produced by TellyJuice, will be broken up into different episodes. The length of the run has yet to be confirmed.
It was commissioned by branded content development manager for Sci Fi UK Ken Jones.
