Sky rebrands Artsworld

BSkyB is to re-brand its arts channels Artsworld and Artsworld HD as Sky Arts and Sky Arts HD respectively from 1 March.

BSkyB is to re-brand its arts channels Artsworld and Artsworld HD as Sky Arts and Sky Arts HD respectively from 1 March.

The two new channels will launch with new logos and identity as well as on-air idents and off-air communications. It will continue to show its varied schedule of arts television from the world.

Upcoming highlights include a new opera strand Monday Night Operaand further episodes of the book show, a weekly chat show with well-known authors hosted by Mariella Frostrup.

Sky has also signed a three-year broadcast sponsorship with The Guardian Hay Festival, a major UK arts festival.

The deal gives Sky Arts exclusive multi-platform broadcast rights from 2007 to 2009 and the programming will also transmit in high-definition on Sky Arts HD.
