Scottish factual and entertainment indie Tern Television has launched a new multimedia division.

Scottish indie Tern Television has launched a multimedia division and appointed former IWC development producer Simon Meek to run it.

Meek will be responsible for developing the company’s cross-platform strategies, forging creative partnerships across the industry and creating new content.

Tern TV managing director David Strachan said: “The philosophy underpinning Tern TV’s expansion into digital media is to migrate the skills it has as a successful TV company to other content delivery platforms.”

Tern TV specialises in factual entertainment and documentaries, and is known for shows such as Spa of Embarrassing Illnesses and BBC2’s Great British Journeys.

This year it has produced over 60 hours of programming for the BBC, C4, Discovery and UKTV and has offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Belfast.
