Top Up TV has hired Barclays' marketing director Jim Hytner, reuniting him with his former BSkyB colleague David Chance. [ALL]
Top Up TV has hired Barclays' marketing director Jim Hytner, reuniting him with his former BSkyB colleague David Chance.As a board level commercial director, Hytner will be in charge of expanding the commercial opportunities for the company.
Hytner joined Barclays in 2004 having previously worked for ITV where he was marketing director. He was credited with the re-branding of the commercial broadcaster following the merger of Carlton and Granada. Hytner has headed up marketing in the past at Five and BSkyB.
His start date has yet to be confirmed and he is understood to be remaining at Barclays until November.
Chance, the former deputy managing director of BSkyB, co-founded Top Up with ex managing director of Sky Entertainment Ian West.
It is 20% owned by Five who took a stake in 2005. The owner of Access Industries Len Blavatnik is said to have puchased a 70% stake in January 2007.
