GCap Media is to sell its national digital station Planet Rock to a new company called Rock Show run by businessman Malcolm Bluemel.
The entrepreneur, who runs TLCS Global Visa Services, which manages visa and passport applications for corporate customers, beat a high-profile bid from Queen guitarist Brian May.
Bluemel has won support from a number of other rock stars, including Black Sabbath's Tony lommi, Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson, Gary Moore, and former Marillion frontman and Planet Rock DJ Fish.
The agreement begins immediately and will see Planet Rock continuing to be broadcast from GCap's Leicester Square offices.
The station was named digital station of the year at last month's Sony Radio Academy Awards. Fish picked up a silver award and fellow Planet Rock DJ Sean Rafferty took home a bronze in the music broadcaster of the year category.
