Dick and Dom to leave Radio 1

DJ duo Dick and Dom are to leave BBC Radio 1 as part of another schedule shake-up.

The ex-children's TV presenters will leave the station and their Sunday morning show after just a year.

As part of the changes, Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw is being given his own weekend breakfast show.

He takes over from Nihal between 7am-10am, who moves to a mid-afternoon slot on Saturday and Sundays between 1pm-4pm.

Sara Cox and Edith Bowman also return to Radio 1 in September after maternity leave.

Cox will cover Jo Whiley's show, Monday to Friday 10am-1pm, during her maternity leave and from the new year will host Sunday mornings from 10am-1pm.

Bowman presents the Sunday morning show in September and October and returns to her regular weekday slot, Monday to Friday 1pm-4pm, in November.

Meanwhile, Chappers and Dave will host Sunday mornings in November and December.

Annie Mac will continue to do her Mash Up every Friday night and will return to Switch, which she'll present with Grimshaw on Sunday evenings.
