Mark Browning, the man who brought Jamie Theakston to Heart 106.2, is to join ITN to head up its multimedia commercial activities.
Browning, who is currently Heart programme director, will take up the newly created role of commercial director of ITN's multimedia division ITN On in January next year.
He will be tasked with growing the ITN brand on consumer platforms and developing ITN On's business across mobile, online and audio, building on established commercial agreements with the likes of Vodafone, Orange, MSN, You Tube, Bebo, Yahoo! and Telegraph Media Group.
He leaves Heart after seven years, where he launched Jamie Theakston's market-leading breakfast show, introduced Toby Anstis, Emma B and Harriet Scott to the station. He also oversaw the channel's national digital expansion under new owners Global Radio this year.
Browning said of ITN ON: "It is an outstanding example of a heritage business reinventing itself for the 21st century. They are very forward thinking and entrepreneurial in their approach, and I look forward to working with the team to build on their considerable successes."
ITN On managing director Nicholas Wheeler added: "Mark's knowledge of lifestyle brands and the relationships with consumers will be very important in helping to take our business forward."
